    Hello,
Thank you for making these things available! My GF laptop just failed on the 20V input rail. (Thunderbolt dock nor Charger gives power.)
I want to check which component could be culprit to see if I can get replacements.

    Thank you so much,
    Julien

Listen to the charger before you plug in without battery, you will here buzzing/frequency. Plug in charger and listen for frequency change at sequence start up, then listen while inserting battery for a frequency change, if you cannot hear frequency change it narrows down fault to input power circuit, maybe bad Cap or Mosfet, or worse id power management I.C. , Send me schematic or model type and i will see can i help you, Regards Mark

Thank you for the fast reply.
There is no audible frequency. I have tried to different power inputs the over the barrel jack and a thunderbolt dock both show the same behavior.
I saw with the thunderbolt dock that it blinked 2 times before it gave up.

I also suspect the input power circuit.
The model is a XPS 15 7590 from what the internet told me it's a the MB has the board number: EDP51 EDB51 LA-H331P REV 1.0
I haven't looked at it jet I first wanted to get some more information before I do any manual labor.

I think I will open it up now and take a look. I'll try to make some videos and or pictures.

    cheers

That looks look a power input fix which is not too bad, but could be BIOS related, very common fault now, see can you back up BIOS and refresh with new on.

    Hi,
That's a really good tip. I watched some videos of him in the past but didn't have that channel in mind anymore.
